Fireworks - 19th September 2012

Thanks for the applause

It's nice when the world notices your hard work. The city of Auckland turned on a spectacular fireworks show tonight to congratulate us on our great event today. As I walked into the bar the sky outside exploded with colour and theatrics. "Gee thanks" I thought. The fact a New Zealand Olympian was receiving her medal in a delayed ceremony across the wharf from our hotel was a small coincidence. I'm claiming it anyway. It made me feel special and sometimes it's ok just to take the praise and run with it.
